Comment on WP Authors + Custom Post Types by Kim http://blog.kim-maida.com/web-development/wordpress/wp-authors-custom-post-types#comment-99 Fri, 18 Jul 2014 01:45:19 +0000 http://blog.kim-maida.com/?p=446#comment-99 I’m trying to show the 3 or 4 most recent posts by author on the custom post type. In my case it’s a profile page I have created for each of several lawyers, so single-profile.php not author.php. How would I do that? Thx

Do you want access to the site or is that asking too much of you?

Keep in mind that if you’re using a theme and you modify it, you will no longer be able to update the theme when the creator pushes new versions unless you want to redo your manual changes each time. The code for hooking the theme options to the outputted code is most likely in the functions.php file of your theme, or in a file the creator might have called options.php. You can refer to the Settings API for more info on how theme options are setup.

I don’t think I explained my issue properly. In the header.php file –

The “social links” are set on one if the theme options pages.

One I view the resulting source code I see –

This is where I need to add the code for other links, but I can’t figure out where to do this.

You are welcome to my login info if that helps.
